FALLS PARK COULD HOST WORLD TITLE FIGHT FOR MICK CONLAN š„āļø

Made infamous as part of Feile an Phobial the Falls Park in west Belfast could be the setting for a potential World title fight for west Belfast native Michael Conlan in May or June.
Having fought there in 2019 versus Diego Alberto Ruiz and most recently in 2021 against fellow Irishman TJ Doheny; Michael is no stranger to the venue which is seen as his backyard.
Although Michael's last two fights have been held at the SSE Arena nothing compares to the Falls Park custom built Arena which saw over 9,500 fans flock to the venue on each occassion creating one of the greatest atmospheres in boxing history under the backdrop of the Sliabh Dubh.

Analysing the current situation of champions within the division the most likely opponent would be a fight against 29 year old current IBF champion Luis Alberto Lopez.
Lopez captured the title last month with a hard-fought twelve round decision win over Josh Warrington in Leeds. However because of injuries sustained during the fight, Lopez would not be physically ready to face Conlan on St Patrick's Day as had hoped by the Conlan Boxing camp.
Elsewhere Isaac Dogboe is set to face Cuban star Robeisy Ramirez, Leigh Wood shall be defending his title once again in Nottingham against Mauricio Lara and Vargas has been in discussions to move to super-featherweight.
At this level there are no easy fights within the elite in the division and that proves the case with Mexican Lopez (27-2) who stepped into the proverbial lions den in Leeds and defeated Josh Warrington in a majority points decision back in December.
Lopez once again could be forced to fight away once again, and the Falls Park Area being named as one potential venue and an expansion to around 16,000 seats could Lopez handle the raucous and partizan cauldron of noise that is created by the vivacious Irish support.
In a recent interview Conlan Boxing's Jamie Conlan stated:
āThe Falls Park would be the ideal venue for Michael fighting for a world title and we have the potential seating arrangements which would mean we could have 16,000 at the venue. That would be a special night if we could make it happen. We are in talks with Lopez and that fight is our focus but we still have a bit of work to do to get it across the line,ā
